What Project Management Means at WMS

When you hire WMS for lift project management, you’re not renting a crane and hoping for the best. You’re engaging a team that takes ownership of the entire lift scope — from the first drawing review through the final closeout report. That means permits pulled, logistics coordinated, site prep managed, and every sub and crew member briefed before a single hook goes up.

For general contractors, WMS as PM dramatically reduces lift-scope risk. Instead of managing multiple vendors — crane company, transport, permit expediter, traffic control — you have a single point of contact who answers for all of it. Schedule impacts, scope changes, and site conditions are managed by WMS, not pushed back to the GC to sort out on the fly.

Owner-Led. Every Lift.

“The difference between renting a crane and hiring a lift PM is accountability. When WMS manages the scope, we own the outcome. Our clients know exactly what’s happening, when it’s happening, and who to call if anything needs to change. That’s a different product than a crane and an operator showing up at 7am.”

— Anthony Nollen Jr., Owner, WMS Heavy Lift Solutions

Anthony is present on every complex lift. Not as a formality — as the decision-maker. When site conditions change, when a plan needs to be adjusted, when a crew needs direction, he’s there. That’s the WMS difference.

Our 5-Step Lift PM Process

1

Scope Definition

Review project drawings, define lift scope, identify constraints including overhead obstructions, site access, ground conditions, and sequencing dependencies.

2

Equipment & Permit Plan

Right-size equipment for every pick, pull required permits, file lift plan documentation with the AHJ, and coordinate road closures or traffic control as needed.

3

Site Prep Coordination

Outrigger mats and cribbing, access route preparation, utility clearance confirmations, traffic control setup, and on-site staging logistics.

4

Crew & Sub Coordination

Full crew brief before execution, coordination with MEP and GC subs on sequencing, communication protocols established, abort criteria defined.

5

Execution & Closeout

Owner-supervised lift execution with real-time documentation, confirmation of final placement, and written closeout report delivered to the GC upon completion.
